Sherlock Holmes The Case of The Silver Earring

Sherlock Holmes comes to life in this adventure: an investigation created in pure Holmesian style where your talent for deduction will be put to the test.
In October 1897, Sherlock Holmes and his trusted friend, Dr. Watson, are invited to a party hosted by Sir Melvyn Bromsby, a construction tycoon, in honor of the return of his daughter, Lavinia, from London. During his opening remarks, a gunshot kills Bromsby on the spot and creates pandemonium.
Sherlock Holmes decides to act immediately, and the game is afoot! There are a number of suspects amongst the invitees and friends of the deceased. It's the beginning of a long series of murders that must be solved as soon as possible.

Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson come to life as you lead the investigation and meet some of Conan Doyle's other famous characters. You will have the chance to visit 40 different locations straight out of Victorian England, graphically reproduced and complete with original soundtrack. You'll interrogate a number of witnesses through in-depth conversations and complete your investigation by analyzing your discoveries and deducing the facts with the clues you uncover.

This game has everything you can wish for in a Sherlock Holmes mystery: the locations, characters, mental challenges, Holmsian quirks, and a bang-up ending where ALL IS REVEALED.
Silver Earring is aimed at gamers who enjoy a good story, mystery buffs, and of course, Sherlock Holmes fans.

Game Features:
- Assume the role of Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson and meet all the heroes of the novels: Inspector Lestrade, Wiggins, Mycroft and many others!
- Investigate 5 murders! Over 40 witnesses to question, 200 clues to uncover and over 25 hours of gameplay to solve the mystery.

Youda Farmer Tips and Tricks

Youda Farmer Tips and Tricks [ compiled by jasper ]

It isn't really possible to write a walkthrough for this game because the items for each level appear randomly. There a couple non-intuitive tips with this game that might help you if you are having trouble.

- You don't have to pick up the products in order

- You don't have to wait for the farmer's truck to arrive and pick up the products.

- Pay attention to the order in which the truck travels around the yard

So when a level starts, just wait a couple seconds to see which items pop up, and then go from there. So if there are three flour and one meat, obviously go for the flour first. And then once you've loaded the product (in this example the flour) DO NOT WAIT for the truck to arrive, move on to the meat. You'll see a checkmark appear over the flour and that's how you'll know the truck has arrived. Just click on the checked items and move on. Also in this case, you wouldn't want to pick up the meat first anyway because the truck has to drive past the flour area before it gets to the meat area. So pay attention to the route the truck takes and then utilize it to your advantage so you do not waste time.

Also, sometimes when you try to restart a level, the game may appear to not work. Just quit to the main menu and restart and the game will start you where you left off.

Be Rich Cheats and Walkthrough

Be Rich Cheats and Walkthrough
[ courtesy of Zavy ]

ABOUT THE GAME:
Have you always wanted to BE RICH and own your own business? Now you can, at least vicariously anyway! You get to create a name for your business. You can even purchase a business upgrade for a charitable organization and have all the donations put into your bank account! This is a great time management, strategy game with a drizzle of simulation. You get to build bridges and roads!

This game is similar to the Build a Lot games with a similar interface but with a few twists. Flipping houses in this game is not as profitable unless you're patient; as you get to choose the selling price. Personally, there are some aspects of this game I like better; such as the commercial business impact on the game. Commercial businesses can bring high income when placed amongst high population especially when the special event pink star is used often.

How many people can live in one house you say? Imagine 11 people living in a two story house or 23 in a chateau! That must be the hired help, a big or extended family!
Here are some other aspects of the game:
- There are no timed levels in this game so take as long as you want. There is an expert time limit counted in days which can vary depending on an upgrade from bonus points.
- A level can be replayed by going to the map (you may have to exit to the main menu first).
- The game offers a choice to continue playing the level after it has been passed; which is fun, as it lets you understand the interactions of the game better OR just let your imagination run wild and build whatever you desire from the menu selections.
- Think you know all the goals of a level from the goal screen? Think again, some levels have added goals. Some of the added goals will appear after one/or all the goals in the goal field have been accomplished.
- The information in some of the characters speech bubbles does NOT match the game and goal information. When this occurs, the information from the speech bubbles is incorrect, the level interface information is correct.
- Houses will sell regardless of how many other properties are up for sale. The length of time it takes for a house to be sold is determined by the value of the house. If the sell price selected is higher than the value, the house takes longer to sell.
- When houses come up for sale on a level it is random and will vary upon level replay.
- A non-owned property up for sale will be taken off the market after a period of time and may come up for sale again for a different price.
- Putting decorations around businesses does NOT increase the income or value. It only increases the appearance rating.
- Putting more than one of the same decoration on a property does not increase the value or appearance value of the house; it only increases the City appearance value.
- All trophies are easily obtained by completing the level goals, except the Luxury home trophy. I've included a screenshot of a luxury home with the specifications needed to achieve this trophy at the end of this walk through

TIPS AND TRICKS:
YOUR BUSINESS and BUSINESS UPGRADES:
- Replay a level to accrue additional bonus points to acquire business upgrades faster OR play the level as quickly as possible and accrue early completion bonus points
- BUY, BUY, and BUY the business upgrades with your bonus points as soon as possible, they will benefit you greatly. I think they are all beneficial, except the VIP unless you want that luxury home trophy!
- Select donation checks from houses quickly as they will disappear and won't be added to your bank account.
- When space is limited on levels, plan workshop locations by keeping in mind the use of the workshop extended repair radius refill button (this is a business upgrade).
- Use the lightning bolt construction upgrade often to increase the speed of the construction of houses and buildings.

HOUSES; BUILDING, BUYING and SELLING:
- Build the most expensive house offered from menu selection or that you can afford first as this generates the most income.
- Build houses with the most tenants around commercial properties to boost the income of the commercial property.
- Sell house/s when extra income is needed to achieve goals.
- Purchase the least expensive house first and build up to the most expensive when all properties on level need to be bought.
- Look at the house value on the pop-up menu to see if the sale price is over inflated
- Purchase a house up for sale on a premium lot when needed to achieve a level goal as soon as possible.
- Build houses with the most tenants around commercial properties.
- When a goal for purchasing all properties is required, watch the sale price of the property compared to the value; as some sell prices are greatly inflated.
- UPGRADE, UPGRADE, UPGRADE, as this increases house value, rental income and commercial income when the house is in the commercial building radius. ALL upgrades take only 1 construction wagon.
- Houses do not generate income when repairs are needed or the property is up for sale.
- Houses do generate income when being upgraded.
- It's generally less expensive to build than to buy a house.

COMMERCIAL BUSINESSES and BUILDINGS:
- Generously build workshops near houses, especially the highest value houses as this saves money and time.
- Use commercial businesses with an attendance of 30 or more generously as they bring increased income and value to the property. The higher the attendance rating on a commercial property the higher the value, rent and the pink star bonus event income.
- Build commercial properties before houses when the attendance will be 30 or more, OR when you can build multiple houses with 30 or more tenants quickly as they generally generate more income than houses.
- The car dealership brings the most income for the investment. It has the largest attendance radius.
- Use the pink star event button often to accrue additional income.

DECORATIONS:
- Putting more than one of the same decoration on a property does not increase the value or appearance value of the house; it only increases the City appearance value.
- Use one type of each decoration you can afford and have enough space for to increase the house income and value.
- Put decorations between 2 houses for maximum effect

EXPERT TIMES NOTE: You may have to replay a level several times in order to achieve an expert time, due to the randomness of the sells of non-owned properties. Many players have indicated the challenges of this aspect of the game in forums.

Levels 1-3 Tutorials (You may want to play the tutorials to acquire bonus points to purchase upgrades.)

OTHER LEVELS (SPOILER ALERT). I've included a screen shot for each level that shows a completed level. The steps and screen shots are by no means the only way to complete a level. Steps are only guides; as there are many variables to this game. ie. how many commercial events selected, prices and times properties are for sale and when you purchase business upgrades.
Level 4: Big Horn
Goals: Own 1 shop; Hold a sale in the shop; Daily income $6,000
- Build a shop (the level makes you do this first). Place shop where indicated on screen shot for highest value and income.
- Build 2 brick houses as close to shop as possible.
- Purchase 1 brick house and upgrade
- Run a sale at the shop. You may have to wait until the pink star sale event can be activated.

Farm Frenzy 2 Cheats and Walkthrough

Basic Tips

Here are some really basic tips, if like me, these things weren't obvious at first:

  • Processing goods: First you must have enough money to click on the sign to buy the structure. Then you must have the raw material (like the egg) in your storehouse. Then click on the processing plant. Once it produces the egg solid, you must click on the item in front of the processing plant for it to go to your storehouse. It does not happen automatically and it does not count towards your goals until you click it.
  • If an item is flashing, it will disappear very soon. Make sure to pick it up!
  • If you have to produce a certain amount of processed goods (like 3 cheese), you can still sell the cheese after you produce it. They don't have to sit in your storehouse.
  • Try to always have enough room to store a bear in your storehouse
  • Dogs and cats are your bestfriend. Cats collect items for you, dogs keep the bears away.
  • The animals have a health indicator (the blue bar). If they are not fed enough, they bar will go down and eventually the animal will die.

A little more advanced Tips

  • Feed your animals at the bottom of the screen - the bears come in at the top. You can see them dropping in when their shadow appears.
  • Upgrading your storehouse and car will help you out early in the game. Do this as soon as you can afford it. It will help you get the gold for some levels.
  • Order good from the plane early on so you don't forget about them later! This is especially important early on when the plane is slow.
  • Grazin in the grass: Don't waiste money by over watering the grass. Try to time it well. Once your well is upgraded to the maximum, it will do the irrigating for you. No more worrying about watering the grass. Sweet!
  • New to this game is the airplane. If it drops an item, you can actually click on the item while its still in the air before it hits the ground.
  • One annoying thing about this game is that sometime items get stuck behind animals. You can still click on the item to collect even if an animal is standing in front of it.
  • You can select multiple items at a time. When items are produced and are sitting outside to be picked up, highlight the group of items and all of them will be picked up with a single click.
  • Obvious Cheat: If you want to upgrade your items, just play the earlier levels over and over until you get enough stars to updgrade. You can play the early levels as many times as you like.
  • Don't be afraid to sell your animals. Especially in the earlier levels, this is an easy way to get to gold. Examples: once you have enough raw materials to make what you need, sell ALL your ducks. In the early levels where you start with the sheep and the goal is cupcakes, sell the sheep right away to upgrade your facilities. You don't need to use the spindle at all. Or maybe use the sheep once or twice, but then sell it quickly before the bear tosses it off.
  • Not all buildings are needed - just because they place a structure on your farm at the beginning of a level doesn't mean you have to use it. Also, you don't have to fully upgrade all the buildings on a level. Only upgrade what you need to.
  • Choose wisely - some of the buildings now have two signs. Obviously, pay attention to which sign you choose because if you pick the wrong one, you'll be waisting resources.

Beating the Game

The first time you play the game through, don't worry about getting gold or even silver on all the levels. You will likely not be able to get gold, even on some of the earlier levels, without having the max upgrades. This is especially true for bears - you must have the cage upgraded to three clicks before you can get gold on some of the levels. You also must also have the fastest car and biggest storehouse.

Advance knowledge: And for some levels, really the only way to beat it is to start the level and just observe what happens. Look at the timing of the bears, the items and animals you'll need etc. Once the level runs for awhile, restart with your new knowledge!

Specific level walkthroughs (from forums, see the forums for more)

Powder Street 5

Wait for your chickens to lay one egg, then immediately sell all five of them with one bear.

When the truck comes back, immediately send it off with two more bears. Then build the powdering processing building and start it working on the egg.

When the truck comes back again, your powder should be done, so just quickly build the bakery building and start it working.

Just make sure you work quickly and you should make it with a few seconds to spare.

Cake Street 5

Immediately buy 1 chicken (goal met) and then sell all chickens.

Capture and sell any bears.

While doing this, process any steaks left by the pig.

As soon as you have 2 steaks, sell the pig.

You should have 2,000 coins at this point, so buy the sausage processing plant.

As soon as you do, start processing the sausages.

Grab your 2 sausages and then you're done.

Product Street 7

As soon as the car lands click it and sell 4 chickens.

Trap bears - put BLACK bear in storehouse.

Wait for last chicken to lay egg (will happen just as car returns) - once layed send black bear and chicken to town.

Upgrade storehouse.

Trap 2 more BLACK bears (there will only be 1 right now - 1 more will appear right before the car returns) - they MUST be BLACK bears or you will be short on money.

The second you are able to, send the 2 bears to town.

While they are going to town, process your egg into powder then into a cake (you are NOT going to be upgrading to a pastry yet - if you do that you will be short money!)

You will need to send one more set of black bears (again - they MUST be BLACK) to town.

The second that car gets back buy your pig (you will have EXACTLY 1000).

Send 1 or 2 bears to town (whatever you have and the type doesn't matter)

As soon as the pig gives the ham, start processing it into slices (you MUST be quick on this!!!)

When the car gets back from town use the plane to buy the 2 pieces you need (styrofoam and sugar). Meanwhile make sure the meat is going quickly through the houses.

As soon as the plane drops goods off, click them (do NOT wait for them to land) and IMMEDIATELY click the appropriate storehouse.

The egg side will end before the meat side (by about 2 seconds) so hover over on that side first.

The BIGGEST hint I can give you other than above is to CLICK AS SOON AS POSSIBLE - a wasted second may mean you lose!

If you accidently get a non-black bear in your storehouse before you buy the pig, just restart the level (and restart if you lose your chicken to the bears too).

Forgotten Lands: First Colony Cheats and Walkthrough

Basic Tips and Tricks (scroll down for tips on specific levels)

Defenders - Defenders are the lynch pin of your colony. The break up disputes, and keep your units from slacking off at their jobs. Make sure to keep Defenders stationed on your Farms as they'll keep your units from starving by keeping your Workers working.

Use your Markets - Markets are a great resource for shifting assets. If you're a little low on gold, use your wood to trade for gold, and vice versa.

Unit abilities - Each unit type has one building in which they function the best at. However, each unit can work anywhere. Take some time to familiarize yourself with what each unit can do at each building type.

Upgraded Academy - If a level goals require upgrading buildings, construct an Academy and upgrade it to earn the Academy Medal. This bonus will decrease the points needed to upgrade ALL buildings and reduce the upgrade wood cost. Also, Scholar earns 15 gold per cycle in this building, so it's a great investment!

Factory - An upgraded Factory speeds up the production cycle. This gives you more production loops in a given time, which can help in things like upgrading buildings and producing resources. The Factory is very very very important in certain levels! Once upgraded you can put there 1 defender and 2 Scouts/ Leaders/Merchants to have resources! Leaders are the best!
Without a Factory it is not possible to gain a yellow flag and pass the levels.

City Guild - An upgraded City Guild reduces the cost of the units and speeds up unit production. This is important for the specialist units, especially leaders, which cost a lot and can take a long time to build

The Academy, City Guild and Factory don't need to be 'staffed'. They do their work without units standing there.

A scholar placed at any building provides 10 upgrade points per production cycle. At special buildings, where there are only 3 spaces, you will want 2 scholars and a defender (usually). You have the option of placing 3 scholars and trying to get the job done faster, but if there is a clash there, it's generally slower in the long run.

If you have the chance, keep an eye on how many points are still needed on buildings. For instance, you may have 2 scholars working, but at the end you only need 5 or 10 points - you can move one scholar early, before the upgrade is actually finished, and get a head start on upgrading a different building.

Make a note of where different units produce wood. You can get a surprising amount from markets, for instance, and it can really help if you need just a bit more in order to build a lumber mill.

GENERAL INFORMATION

GENERAL UNITS:
WORKERS (Cost 50 Gold):
Are the only Units that construct buildings, best used on Farm & Lumber Mill. Workers can collect Gold & a small amount of other resources relevant to the building they are put on or relevant to their specialties (i.e. gems on Mine or collect food & wood on different buildings).

MERCHANTS (Cost 75 Gold):
Can collect Gold from any building, can produce a small amount of other resources relevant to the building they are put on or relevant to their specialties.

SCHOLARS (Cost 125 Gold): Can only put points toward upgrading buildings, except @ Academy they can earn 15 Gold per cycle.

SCOUT (Cost 75 Gold):
Can collect land resources and collect gems on a Mine. Can collect Gold & small amount of other resources relevant to the building they are put on or relevant to their specialties.

DEFENDER (Cost 100 Gold):
Can prevent disputes between Units if put on buildings before there are multiple Units on a building. They can rectify a dispute @ a building between units if placed on building. Should a dispute occur @ a building production ceases until dispute is solved, which takes some time. Can collect Gold & small amounts of other resources relevant to the building they are put on or relevant to their specialties.

SPECIALTY UNITS:

CULTIVATOR (Cost 200 Gold):
Can be purchased after a Farm is upgraded to 4 Stars, can collect Gold & small amounts of other resources relevant to the building they are put on or relevant to their specialties.

WOODSMAN (Cost 150 Gold):
Can be purchased after Lumber Mill has been upgraded to 4 Stars, can collect Gold & small amounts of other resources relevant to the building they are put on or relevant to their specialties.

EXPLORER: (Cost 250 Gold):
Can be purchased after a Mine has been upgraded to 4 Stars, can collect FOOD & WOOD from any building.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bonus Level 3

You need to focus on getting as much lumber as possible to sell at the market for gold.

Get scouts early on to harvest the resources and place two scouts and a defender on the market. Because you need to recruit 15 defenders and 7 scholars, build two farms and have one farm full of defenders so they don't count towards the food quota. This should be enough to get the yellow flag.

Bonus Level 7

Yellow Flag Directions: Buy the second farm from the left to start, building a mine near the treasury and a mill near the tower. Upgrade the farm and the mine, staffing the mine quite a bit, filling in around the lumber mill with merchants to get cash.

Build the first market near the treasury and focus on upgrading it. Buy the rest of the farms as you can, building markets and upgrading them after the one near the treasury reaches a 3 star. Move merchants from lumber mill to markets as they're built.

You can eventually buy the treasury, then destroy the mine, replacing it with a market. You'll be able to staff it with merchants to hit the money goal with a bit of time to spare.

Bonus Level 10

Starting with this may help you:

1. Hire 3 scouts and harvest the gold
2. Hire a worker and build a Farm (not near the pond, save that for the Mine)
3. Recruit a Cultivator and put her on the Farm
4. Wait until you have enough money and build a Market
5. Recruit the leader and put her on the Market
