Abraham can use many different items during the game. As well as a whole variety of weapons there are all sorts of things including protective armour, biochips that increase his skills, first-aid kits and other hi-tech items.
The game world contains advanced technology such as teleports, holographs, shields and energy guns. However, in order to take advantage of these items, Abraham has to possess the Knowledge to use them.
As the story unfolds Abraham is set new missions which will help unravel how Maximus XV got into such a deadly situation.

To save the ship you'll have to make your way through 15 biospheres full of enemy creatures.
There's no need to kid yourself - it's going to be a hard time...

The Fifth Disciple Talkie Adventure/RPG

You are a young man named Engeor; after a lengthy intro, you find yourself in a prison camp not because you committed any crime but because you attended a wizardry university that fell victim to a magic-fearing new ruler's pogrom. Your first job is to escape, and ultimately you are to learn what happened and why and figure out how to stop the inexorable doom that is about to befall the land.

The Fifth Disciple is a fine synthesis of two popular computer game styles: point-and-click adventure and fantasy RPG. The game combines the two styles in a way very similar to table games where players are heroes who complete logic and story tasks as well as fight in battles with enemies. The game alternates between solving problems through objects and communication with other characters, and move-by-move battling. The player takes on the character of Engeor, and for every task solved and enemy defeated, he is given additional experience, which can be used to improve one of 25 available spells. Those can be applied in the course of the game during combat as well as in the adventure parts.

Battles are like those in turn-based console RPGs a la Final Fantasy.
Not only do you gain experience points and levels the usual way, by winning battles, but also by successfully completing puzzles in the adventure portions, sometimes even by simply picking up items.

The voice acting is surprisingly well done.
This game is fun and deserves an A.

Master of the Wind

Cade Mistral and his best friend, a skeleton named "Bones," work as armor merchants in the beautiful seaside town of Port Arianna. Unbeknownst to the townsfolk, Cade also protects them as the spear-wielding wind mage known as Shroud. Bones joins him as Stoic, a mighty undead warrior who has lived through roughly one thousand years of history.

The story begins with our heroes keeping their fellow citizens safe from smaller threats like robbers or the occasional vampire. However, when larger and more organized foes begin to descend on their humble home, our heroes realize they are in for more than they bargained for. They will have to make new friends, confront deadly foes, and travel all over the world to deliver justice once and for all.

Master of the Wind is an awesome game.

Siege of Avalon is a tradition fantasy-RPG with an isometric view, similar to "Baldur's Gate". The setting is an imaginary land which has been ruined by wars and it is up to you to defeat the evil warrior Mithras, who strives to conquer the entire land. Only the fortress of Avalon resists to his evil intentions.

As the game opens, you find yourself as a new recruit in the castle of Avalon, where the humans are making their final stand against the Sha'ahoul. Your brother is also at the castle, but otherwise there isn't anything special about you. You're not the son of a god or the Chosen One of a prophecy, so you'll have to make do with whatever equipment you can scrounge up, and you'll have to take orders from your commanding officers. But with the Sha'ahoul laying siege to the castle, you'll have plenty of opportunities to prove yourself -- from foiling plots of treachery to disabling siege equipment to recovering artifacts of great power -- and eventually you'll rise in rank and grow strong enough to maybe even help end the siege itself.

The game is mainly story-driven, featuring many NPCs, and is based on a real-time combat.

NOTE:
The game works fine in XP, I don't know if it works in Vista.
